Its reputation is based on the very qualities of its product and its unique material, tempered glass, whose strength inspired the brand name taken from the Latin motto, “Dura Lex Sed Lex” (The law is tough, but it is the law).
The tempering process is what makes Duralex glass so tough. Glass that has been heated to around 700°C is suddenly cooled by cold air ventilation. Duralex glass is 2.5 times stronger than annealed glass and is capable of enduring a thermal shock of 130°C. All the products move smoothly from freezer to microwave.
